Toy Story 3

Untitled-2

Role: Intern Level Designer

  • Layout and design of the Bullseye steeple chase race section of Toy Box Mode
  • All Bullseye, car, mini-car and dragon race missions for the rest of the world
  • Bug fixing responsibilities for other sections of the game, specifically the Haunted mansion section of Toy Box Mode

Toy Story 3 was my first project at Disney, as well as my first foray into the world of Level Design. Prior to this internship, I had focused solely on 3d modeling and texturing. I was nervous coming in on the project not knowing how much I would like scripting and blocking out gameplay – as it turns out, I love it! Working on this game was truly a magical time for me.

Toy Story 3 is near perfect, delivering an opened ended, action packed game that can be enjoyed for hours on end. -Extreme Gamer

Toy Story 3 ultimately succeeds in the same way that Pixar’s films do–it’s attractive to young people who get a great surface experience and for older audiences who appreciate extra layers of depth. [Aug 2010, p.107] -Game Informer

Avalanche Studios has broken the movie-game stigma for me by releasing the awesome Toy Story 3. -1UP
